Theatre Review: The Importance of Being Earnest

I went to see The Importance of Being Earnest on Broadway before it closes at the end of the week. Since it was just me, I was able to get a discount ticket in the front row somewhat last minute. I was really hoping to be able to take my parents and grandmother next week when they are in town, but sadly, all good things must come to a close...or end.

Brian Bedford did an amazing job playing Lady Bracknell, the matronly, elderly aunt. I enjoyed how he played a woman in a comedy without using the fact that he was indeed a he for any of the comedic elements.

Bedford was worth seeing the play for on his own, but in my opinion, it was Santino Fontano as Algernon who really made the show. Hilarious and entertaining, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
